The Dickinson State Blue Hawks softball team is still ranked No. 5 in the NAIA poll. They’ve been there since the preseason and it doesn’t look like they’re going anywhere too soon. They’re 17-3, with one of their losses coming to No. 1-ranked California Baptist 8-4, another to No. 6-ranked Lubbock Christian 4-2 and their other to unranked Missouri Valley 4-2.

I’ll be going on vacation, but expect to see a story about DSU sophomore pitcher Sara Jane Webster later in the week. Webster is 9-2 with 112 strikeouts. Last year she went 25-5 and set a school record with 249 strikeouts. She’s on pact to shatter the strikeout record, but she’s probably not going to hit the 25-win mark this year simply because of weather issues.
