Some slugger is getting a free set of tires for the 4th

The Dickinson baseball alumni games are scheduled for 1 and 3 p.m. Sunday, July 4 at Southside Municipal Ballpark.

This year’s honoree is Dickinson High School head coach and Army National Guard veteran Pete Dobitz, who will be throwing out the opening pitch before the first game.

The doubleheader opens up with the Ruff Ryderz, coached by Levi Dennis, against the Midgets, coached by Michael Weidner. The second game will feature The Black Knights, coached by Andy Tomanek, and The Legends, coached by Scott Thompson. A Home Run Derby is scheduled for after the second game. The derby’s prize? A set of Hankook tires (includes mounting and balancing). That’s a … well, that’s a pretty good prize for an alumni baseball game home run derby if you ask me.

For more information on the games, contact Karen Heidt at 701-590-0495.
