The Beach girls basketball team opens the season with the unanimous No. 1 ranking in the Class B poll compiled by the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.
The Buccaneers are off to a 2-0 start and defeated No. 4-ranked Standing Rock on Saturday.
Defending Region 7 champion Beulah held on to the No. 4 spot in the Class B boys basketball poll while Fargo Oak Grove (5-0) maintained the No. 9 spot.
The Beach boys (3-0) are ranked No. 10 while Roughrider Tournament champion New England (4-0) received votes in the boys poll.
Dickinson Trinity (1-1) received votes in the girls poll.
