Dakota Wolf enters D-II indoor season as top-ranked mile runner

Dickinson High School graduate Dakota Wolf, a senior at the University of Mary in Bismarck, enters the women’s indoor track and field season as the No. 1-ranked mile runner in NCAA Division II.

The 2013 Preseason United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) computer rankings were released Thursday with the U-Mary women sitting No. 8 in the team rankings.

Wolf took fifth in the 1,500 meters at last season’s NCAA Division II national championships, was 19th in the 800 meters and 22nd in the 5,000. Wolf’s teammate, senior Melissa Agnew, is ranked No. 2 behind her in the mile rankings. The Marauders’ distance medley relay team is ranked third.
